The horror series “Teacup” has been canceled by the Peacock after its first season. Based on the novel “Stinger” by Robert McCammon, the production premiered in October 2024 and featured a star-studded cast including Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman. Despite receiving positive reviews, with a 70% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the series didn’t achieve satisfactory viewing figures and didn’t make it into Nielsen’s top 10 streaming programs.
“Teacup” followed a diverse group of individuals in rural Georgia who band together to face a mysterious threat. It was executive produced by James Wan, known for films such as “Invocation of Evil”.
Despite the cancellation, Atomic Monster, the production company responsible for “Teacup”, is continuing its partnership with the Peacock and is currently working on an espionage series starring Simu Liu, known for her role in “Shang-Chi”.
For fans of “Teacup”, the series remains available in the Peacock catalog, allowing viewers to complete the season.
