Paige DeSorbo shared with her “Giggly Squad” listeners that she has decided to freeze her eggs following her breakup with Craig Conover. She revealed that she would be heading to her first appointment for the process this week.
While acknowledging the weight of the decision, DeSorbo expressed that it’s something she had always anticipated doing. “I’ve been thinking about it for a while—probably since last year, around springtime. I was certain that by 2025, I’d be freezing my eggs,” she said.
The 32-year-old reality star explained that January provided the perfect window to take the step, as her tour schedule had a break, and she was checking off personal goals for the month. She admitted, however, that organizing the logistics of the egg freezing process has been challenging. “I have to pick two weeks when I’ll be home because I need to administer shots at the same time each night, and they need to be refrigerated,” she said.
Currently, DeSorbo plans to start the retrieval process in early March, after her “Giggly Squad” tour concludes. “Once I’m done with the tour, I’ll take the shots and go through with the retrieval,” she explained.
For DeSorbo, the decision to freeze her eggs wasn’t originally tied to her career but was more of a personal precautionary measure. She shared that at 32, she had expected to be a mother by now but wanted to keep her options open for the future. “I didn’t want to be in a position at 39 or 40 thinking, ‘What if I want one more child?’” she said.
Though her initial intention was to secure more options, DeSorbo’s perspective shifted slightly after her breakup. “Now, it’s more about security, but I do feel a bit more relaxed knowing I’m taking action,” she said.
Throughout her relationship with Conover, DeSorbo was clear about her priorities. In May 2023, she defended her decision to delay marriage and children, despite Conover’s eagerness to settle down. “If Craig, as a 30-year-old man, had said he wanted to focus on his career and wait to get married, people would praise him,” she explained. “But when I say it, people assume I don’t love him, which couldn’t be further from the truth.”
DeSorbo and Conover, who dated for three years, ended their relationship in December 2024. Following the breakup, it was revealed that Conover had also taken steps toward family planning by freezing his sperm in 2024. On a January episode of “Southern Charm,” he shared that he had done so to ensure he could become a father when the time was right.
